World Book - This Day in History app good for
May U can done it also, in german, french or any other language?
This would be the "Final-Touch" 4 your App.
Well I dont have a Mac and no access to the widgets, so this app is excellent for people like me. And only a dollar!
This is cool I like to be able to see what went on in history. Very Educational.
I have had this for a year..it is a free widget for apple...but I use it everyday on my phone...data base needs some love and this could be a really good app...
April 12 The American Civil War is there, so is the Japan attacking Pearl Harbor in WWII. I got it today September 19th 2009 six things happened this day (I compared it to the Mac widget). In order to see all six you have to slide your finger sideways (left and right). Its a little misleading. There should be arrows or something to let people know there was more history on a particular day. Still its nice app that works well.
Some bad moments
I like trivia and misc. facts, and some of this is interesting, but it would be a lot nicer if you could categorize things that happened "This Day in History" and expand. For instance, have the arts, inventions, quotes, politics, global issues, etc.... when someone was born is ..... well ...... sort of interesting I guess, but more meaty content would go further: be brief histories as related to the major event of that "Day" would add a lot.
I accidently bought this and I was like alright whatever maybe its cool but its about people Ive never heard of. I mean it could be way cooler if it had "fun facts" like " today in 1976 man touched moon" or something interesting. Not like " martha burgenton, inventor, was born 1864. "
I mean thats not even detailed.
This app is just OK. I would understand if it was free but yeah.
This wouldnt be worth checking out even if it was free. Only 1 fact per day. Dont do it
I cant give a review yet but surprised nothing abou death of Kennedy on this date in 1963
Apparently Camille Saint-Saens Oct. 9 birthday is more significant a day in history than John Lennons on the same day.
It only ever mentions people being born. And as a history teacher who actually knows his stuff I dont even know half the people mentioned.
